Sugin Textiles/Ava Chan
Location: Roslindale Congregational Church-Downstairs
I make felted wool body textiles and home accessories using traditional wet-felting methods. This process transforms combed wool fiber into fabric by using soap, water and a lot of rubbing, causing the fibers to intertwine. Wool accepts dyes easily and is a versatile fiber, creating felt that can be flat or sculptural, very dense or else light and flexible. I focus on making objects that are beautiful, tactile, and practical. My offerings will include vessels, hats, shawls and scarves.
