Miriam Z. Bradford Paper limoncellostyle.com
On the first night of their honeymoon on the island of Capri, off the coast of Italy, Miriam and her new husband were introduced to Limoncello; a refreshingly-cool, tangy dessert-drink native to the area. It was the perfect way to kick off their wedding-planning shoes and sit back and relax.

Upon returning, Miriam founded LimoncelloSTYLE, LLC; an event preparation company offering custom invitation suites, custom cards and DIY (Do-it-Yourself) rescue services for social events. It is her goal to provide clients with the opportunity to sit back and relax as though they too were enjoying a sip of cool Limoncello on the island of Capri.

Miriam has always had a love for paper arts and has been scrapbooking and making cards for years.  Along with her uncanny knack for coordinating events, she genuinely enjoys creating and implementing the details. Her specialty is evoking emotion with her pieces that give guests a preview of what to expect at events associated with her designs.

Always a creative spirit, Miriam is a graduate of Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Vocal Performance and a Theater minor.  She and her husband, Davis, live in Roslindale, MA with their cat, JP.

Liz Brenner Jewelry
LizBeads: custom designed jewelry
The passions that inspire me to design and create jewelry include my love of colors and textures.  I love to see the sparkle and spark in natural materials.  My earthy, funky, and glittery work includes Swarovski crystal, sterling silver, pearl, glass and semi-precious stones that are natural treasures manipulated and beautified by people. Starting from raw materials each with inherent beauty, working to create each unique whole piece with love, openness to possibilities not immediately evident, mindfulness and patience is a parallel process to the work of psychotherapy which I do as my day job.

Veda Daly Oil Painting / Sumi-E vedadaly.com
I have been interested in Art since the age of six. My mother was an artist and along with sending me to art school, she took me to galleries and museums. I have continued my interest in art throughout my life, painting and drawing in various mediums; charcoal, pastels, pen, ink, pencil, oils, and acrylics.

I am presently an artist and board member of the Cambridge Art Association. I participated as a member of juried shows for the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts. I have also worked as a coordinator for the Boston Public Schools in which students participated in citywide art contests, and assisted students in applying to the Museum of Fine Arts High School program. The majority of my training has been self directed, taking classes at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Brookline and Boston Center for Adult Education and the Fort Point Studio School. I have taken classes with William St. George, Jane Staffier, Lisa Knox, Patrick Carter and private sumi-e lessons with Jan Zaremba.

I paint in the style of Expressionism in acrylic. I try constantly to paint
with emotional experimentation, using bright colors, and a constant
awareness of brushstrokes to stimulate my imagination to create a glimpse of the mystery and beauty in the world that can be bland and not evident at times. And in the never ending learning process, hopefully connect at times with someone else¹s senses and feelings.

Jennifer Dery Jewelry
I started making jewelry a few years ago when I couldn't find what I needed in the boutiques and stores I frequented. I purchased some stones and started experimenting, and something much bigger than a hobby has blossomed. I craft my jewelry designs entirely from a vast array of semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, and sterling silver. I love the play of unexpected colors working together, shiny and matte, transparent and opaque, all contributing to the final, unique creation. Each time I sit down in my studio, I don't duplicate something I've already made----each piece is unique, a work of art, no two are ever alike.

Linda Freeley Collage
I am a late-bloomer, an artist who has practiced the craft more as a hobby than as a profession. As a women at mid-life, however, I realized that my art is vital to my self-sustenance. Like most moms, those who work outside of the home or not, what is important to us so often gets lost in the shuffle. My art is a voice for reclaiming that part of us that so often gets neglected; and I choose collage as a medium because that is how I see and interpret my world. The other art I am showing is a counter-balance; an example of my multiple interpretations of the reality I know and the time I value so much. I hope you can enjoy it, and experience the same equilibrium and peace that making it brings me! If nothing else, I hope it gives you a chance to pause, and to think, and to look. Thank you.

Becky Fullerton Painting paintergal.becky.googlepages.com
The mind creates, the chaos permeates. In the material hallucination, art objects are calculations of the musings of the mind -- a mind that uses the chaos as a zeitgeist to enmesh ideas, patterns, and emotions.  Becky Fullerton's work investigates the nuances of imagery through the encouragement of slow motion viewing and close-up examination which emphasize the Artificial nature of water media. Fullerton explores abstract juxtapositions and constructed scenery as motifs to describe the idea of imaginary hallucination. Using intricate patterns, non-linear narratives, and allegorical images, Fullerton creates meditative environments which suggest the expansion of the visual field.

Christoph Gervais Photography twisted-tree.smugmug.com
My interest in photography began during my architectural studies in college. The need to photograph conceptual and final design models introduced me to technical aspects of lighting, composition and the basics of macro photography.

While in school I took a photography class that involved developing black and white film. Shooting exclusively in black and white, I learned to find subjects with a wide range of contrast and strong textures. Over time I have gradually transitioned to digital photography. My work as a technical graphic designer has provided me experience in Photoshop in addition to knowledge of color management principles and color correction techniques, which are useful when working in the “digital darkroom”.

Sean Kolva Photography greenturtlegallery.com
For almost 20yrs now, photography and traveling have been an important part of Sean's life. As a boy, traveling came in the form of family vacations and Boy Scout camping trips. Now, he photographs to travel and travels to photograph. Travel isn't about just going to a particular place-- it is the act of going.

There is poem by Robert Lewis Stevenson on the floor of the Providence, RI train station that explains it best:

I travel for travels sake,
The great affair is to move,
For my part, Travel not to go anywhere,
But to Go.

Landscapes are Sean's favorite style of photography. Growing up in a rural community in central Pennsylvania, The landscape of every new place he visits gets contrasted in his mind with that of Halifax, Pennsylvania. Now that he lives in Boston, he's photographing the small landscapes in a large city. This also means he's started experimenting with shooting buildings in the same way as landscapes.

Fiber has always been a central figure in most that I make; from
needlework as a child to paper making and weaving as a young adult to the textile design and painting I do today. I find my inspiration comes in many forms but the thread in it all for me is rhythm. The rhythm of architecture, the rhythm of landscape and of plants. The obvious visual structure created by rhythm and the slight spontaneous variations are
what I strive to capture in my work.

Jack Lawrence Wood Sculpture giraffefactory.com
All of my giraffes are female, I must admit.  Maybe I am a chauvinist.  I tell people that they are My Harem.  I do enjoy the beauty of females.  But the major reason is that my ladies are made to be eye-catchers and conversation pieces.  Each giraffe personality is somewhat vain as well as being friendly.   Each lady expects to be the center of attention, and this requires dressing up with cosmetics, jewelry, hoof polish, etc. All Ladies are made of wood. The heart of my art is the wood laminating process I use to make the basic form before sculpting begins.  Paint is outdoor enamel covered with an enamel clear coat for added protection.  I have made ladies from 1' up to 8'.  As far as color combinations, customers have choices when they order.  Most popular have been regular giraffe colors, and a new variety - hammered copper spots over a cream background.  Ponder this thought: If Giraffes ran the world, we would have world peace.

"Hang em High" Jewelry & Photography hangemhighjewelry.com
Cynthia, the creative force and passion behind Hang ‘em High Jewelry started the business in 1980, but in reality had been making pieces of jewelry since she was a young child. Her mother was a clothing designer who sold her creations in New York and Boston so Cynthia literally learned at the knees of the master. She loved pulling together elements and colorful bits of assorted materials to form a piece of art. Since that time she has created a cohesive body of work that reflects her love for the “Spirit of the Southwest” and her own American Indian heritage. Hang ‘em High Jewelry can be seen in shows and fine galleries across the United States and juried shows in New England. As well as showing at different venues, Hang ‘em High takes great pride in the fact that they participate in numerous charities - especially for the American Cancer Society fight against breast cancer, Walden Street School, Anthony Picarello Foundation and The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer, along with other organizations and churches. It is an essential part of Hang ‘em High’s philosophy to give back.

Signature pieces have been created specifically by Hang ‘em High Jewelry for performers, such as the lead singer of Crushed Velvet, Executive Director of the Coalition of Modern Artists, and other musicians.

All the jewelry is handmade out of recycled glass that comes from windows, bottles, jars and other more traditional sources. The glass is cut and assembled, then fired in a kiln to fuse round sharp edges and improve the colors and texture of the surface. When the glass fuses, each design becomes a unique creation due to the vitro-fusion process. "Eco-friendly jewelry" at its finest!!!

Dave Ratcliffe Piano davespianolessons.com
My love of music began with being inspired by a family friend who played everything from Fats Waller to Mozart. Because there were no jazz scores for songs I wanted to play, I began transcribing favorite recordings of jazz pianists in my early twenties. I furthered this pursuit when I studied with the late, great Mary Lou Williams. I have loved playing piano all of my life.

After an interesting bunch of years in the computer world, I found my way to teaching piano and sharing my enthusiasm for playing piano with my
students. These years I also create electronic versions of some of the transcriptions I have done and put them out on my piano teaching site.

Performances at the top of the hour for 10-15 minutes during Open Studios followed by mini lessons and playback recording demonstrations.

Jay Roberts Glass greenmanglass.com
Fused Glass is a hobby of mine. I started doing stained glass in 2000 after taking a class in Boston, MA. In 2003, I expanded into Fused Glass and start fusing in my own studio in Roslindale, MA. I've taken fusing and casting classes at Jamaica Plain's Diablo Metal and Glass and at Corning Museum of Glass in NY. Most of my work is in Fused Glass.

Fusing allows me to explore the fluidity and rigidity of glass. Light and shadow makes appear differently from different angles. A single piece may require several firings to achieve the desired results. Heating the glass again in ceramic or steel molds form the bowl form. Further grinding and polishing bring out highlights in select pieces. As a result of the kiln forming process, each piece is a unique piece of art, and in some cases not reproducable.

Nan Rumpf Watermedia Painting nanrumpf.com
I was born in a small Iowa town on the banks of the Mississippi River. I spent my childhood exploring the outdoors and daydreaming. I moved to New England where I became a professional puppeteer and wrote and illustrated a book about puppetry and stagecraft. I run dramatic arts workshops in schools where I provide art instruction, narration, sound effects and live music.

I enjoy painting with watermedia for the movement, the glazes, and the unpredictability. Most recently, I have been painting works from my imagination. I start with undifferentiated washes and textural accidents. I then develop them into compositions based on imagined mingling of basic life forms.

Than Tun Watercolor Painting sites.google.com/site/thantunburma

Than Tun is from a small village in Burma where he lives with his extended family. At the age of seven he began painting with watercolors and he now hopes to help support his family by selling his art. Though his village survived the cyclone intact, he and his family still struggle to meet their daily needs. All of the money from the sale of his artwork goes to Than Tun and his family.

Ann Turley Painting at-design.com/finearts
The figure, and therefore the human condition, is the theme of my work. In The Perfect Storm http://www.at-design.com/finearts/drawings_storm_s.php the central transparent figure with his back to the viewer looks towards an elusive landscape. One may wonder if the marks and atmospheric forms behind him are his innermost thoughts, his past or just a landscape. The juxtaposition of various techniques and the use of a variety of materials helps me to express such themes as conflict and personal fulfillment through mystery and suggestion.
